In 1973 the pastor of a small Baptist Church in Pineville, La., Rev. Bob Galloway, joined with a group of state pastors and laymen in representing an old established church insurance company interested in coming to Louisiana.

Preferred Risk Mutual Insurance Company, a national leader in the church insurance market, ventured into Louisiana with six agents in 1973. Our agency, Galloway Insurance Agency, was born out of this initial launch, with a ministry of helping churches understand and find affordable insurance coverage. We are the premier LOUISIANA CHURCH INSURANCE agency and chose this new name, LA CHURCH INSURANCE, but our original mission remains our focus today…help churches find affordable insurance.

In 1980, Bob’s son, David Galloway, a Veteran, joined his father’s agency. At that time the agency insured 168 churches in Louisiana. The late 1980’s saw the explosion of the Sexual Misconduct crisis, Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the double-hurricanes of 2005 and five hurricanes of 2020/2021. Still LOUISIANA CHURCH INSURANCE continues to serve Louisiana churches and currently insures over 1000 Louisiana churches and religious institutions. God continues to bless us beyond words!

We partner with GuideOne Insurance Group (the old Preferred Risk Group) to meet the expectations of our Louisiana church communities. GuideOne Insurance Group has been with us since 1973 and that commitment matters in a time when so many companies have come and gone in Louisiana over the years.

Over the years we have connected with other reputable church insurance carriers to give our churches access to every company willing to insure Louisiana churches.

In 2001, a third generation of Galloway’s joined the agency, with Pastor Bob’s grand-daughter, Tasha Galloway Hernandez, joining the team at LOUISIANA CHURCH INSURANCE. In 2005 another Galloway joined the agency, David’s daughter, Ashley Galloway Pharis. The overlap of generations has helped us remain stable and consistent for our churches. Tasha and Ashley bring a wealth of knowledge and handle all of our website work, social media and have the ability to connect with the X and Y generation of church leaders. Both are well versed church insurance agents and knows all aspects of insuring churches and risk management for our clients.

Many churches that we insure today have been clients with us for decades. Any church can find an insurance agent to sell them a policy.
